Parkview’s Star Offensive Tackle: JJ Brown

JJ Brown is a 4 Star recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at Parkview High School. Brown is ranked as the 328th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a top 40 Offensive Tackle in the nation as well. In addition, Brown is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of Georgia and is listed as the #5 Offensive Tackle in the state of Georgia. He is committed to play at Clemson.

Who are some role models in your life?
My biggest role models are my parents and the coaches who’ve poured into me. They’ve set the standard for work ethic, discipline, and how to carry myself on and off the field.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I usually go with Lil Baby, YoungBoy, and Rod Wave. It gets me locked in and keeps my energy up right before kickoff.

What are the strengths of your game?
My size and athleticism stand out. I’m 6’6”, 285 pounds with an 82-inch wingspan. I’m powerful in the run game, protect the blindside at a high level, and play with great footwork and control. I’m physical, smart, and I finish blocks.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Getting multiple offers in a four week span. That was the moment where all the work I’d put in started to show, and it pushed me to go even harder.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I’ve gone against some really talented guys in Georgia, but the best competition always comes from teammates in practice. Iron sharpens iron.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Be consistent. Stack your days. Don’t just rely on talent, work when nobody’s watching. Stay disciplined in the classroom, because opportunities come when your grades are right.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d go to Greece. The water, the scenery, the history—it just seems like a place where you can clear your mind.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was around 4 when football really clicked for me. From that point on, I knew this was what I wanted to chase.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Trent Williams. His technique and dominance at tackle are on another level, and I’d love to learn from a guy who plays the position the right way.
