Griffin Cockerham is a 3 Star recruit who plays Tight End at Cardinal Gibbons High School. Cockerham is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 50 Tight End in the nation as well. In addition, Cockerham is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of North Carolina and is listed as the #2 Tight End in the state of North Carolina. He is committed to play at NC State.

Definitely my parents. They inspire me with their work ethic every day.

My leadership and football IQ.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
When my teammate hit the game-winning field goal to beat Garner in the fourth round of the playoffs.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
My future teammate, Aiden Smalls. I’ve played with him and against him.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Don’t focus on social media. If you really want to play Division I football, put your head down and work.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Down south near Florida to go fishing.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with the game in eighth grade.
