Who are some role models in your life?
Some of my role models would definitely be my dad, my cousin Marque Collins, and my friend Quali Conli. My dad, being a Division 1 football coach, and my cousin and friend, being Division 1 football players at BYU and the University of Arizona, were great influences to follow as I grew up and continue to be as I’m still growing.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I usually listen to calm music that I would listen to on a day-to-day basis—artists like Drake and Adele. It calms my nerves and allows me to have a clear head before the game, and I let the killer mentality come out naturally on the field.

What are the strengths of your game?
Strengths of my game would be my durability, strength, speed, and contact balance. I’m still working on those things and adding other attributes to my bag.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite career memory would be getting my first offer. I was surprised—knowing this day would eventually come, it was still shocking to me that I’ve come so far. It was also an eye-opener, showing me how much further I have to go and the work I’d have to do to get there.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
The best player I’ve ever played with is my good friend Derek Meadows. It’s not just his athletic ability that stands out, but more so his work ethic, focus, and humility. Those qualities make him who he is, and I believe he’ll go far. I’ve got a lot of love and respect for him.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Football is a mental game. It’s also a lifestyle. If you aren’t striving for constant improvement, then you’re not going anywhere. If you’re mentally stronger when it comes to discipline and mentally ahead when it comes to strategy, film, and knowledge, you already have what most athletes don’t. Stay humble, stay consistent, and give God all the glory.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d definitely take a trip to Cancun or some island with beautiful sights that isn’t crowded. Somewhere peaceful.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 4 years old when I first stepped on the field. It felt so good being out there and being good at something I loved. Even back then, I wanted to get better. That mindset matured over time, but even now, I’m still having the same fun as 4-year-old TJ.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Travis Hunter. I know he’s young like I am, but the way he’s handled adversity, stayed focused, maintained a 4.0 GPA, and avoided distractions is something I admire. His discipline is real, and I’d love to have a conversation with him.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Easy—the “Beast Quake” from Marshawn Lynch. That run was powerful. It made a human being look unstoppable among other human beings. Just watching it is still inspiring to this day.
