Caden Cashman is a 3 Star recruit who plays Linebacker at The McDonogh School. Cashman is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Linebackers in the nation as well. In addition, Cashman is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of Maryland and is listed as the #1 Linebacker in the state of Maryland. He is committed to play at Navy.

Who are some role models in your life?
I’d say my parents are the biggest role models in my life. My dad has taught me how to lead others and how to balance all aspects of my life. My mom has taught me to be a good person and to treat everyone with respect.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I usually don’t listen to a lot of pump-up music before games because I tend to get worked up. I usually listen to Adele to stay calm until right before the game, then I’ll start listening to some rap or rock.

What are the strengths of your game?
I think the main strengths of my game are my vision and physicality. I’m not the fastest or the strongest, so I have to rely on those two things to stand out.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
I think my favorite memory is when I scored my touchdown against Loyola because my whole family was there to watch, and it was cool having them there for that.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I think the best player I’ve ever played with was Brandon Finny my sophomore year because he’s one of the best true freshmen in the country and is now starting for Oregon. The best player I’ve ever played against is probably Malik Washington.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Don’t worry about the recruiting process when you’re in season. Just enjoy the game and don’t forget why you’re playing, because you can’t control the offers or interest you get, you can only control how you play.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I think going to Tahiti or somewhere like that would be pretty sweet, so I’d say there.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I’ve loved football for as long as I can remember, and I always wanted to play. My parents didn’t let me until my 7th-grade year, and that’s when I really fell in love with it.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I think I’d want to meet Luke Kuechly because he just knew the game so well and knew how to watch film, so I’d want to pick his brain on that.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Watching the Washington Commanders beat the Detroit Lions in the playoffs has got to be my favorite moment.
