Susquehanna Township’s Star Linebacker: Rick Brown

Rick Brown is a 3 Star recruit who plays Linebacker at Susquehanna Township High School. Brown is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 100 Linebacker in the nation as well. In addition, Brown is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and is listed as the #5 Linebacker in the state of Pennsylvania. He is committed to play at West Virginia.

Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are my dad, my LB coach Coach Danny, and my cousin Rico Scott.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
The artist I listen to the most is the band Deftones.

What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game, in my opinion, are my football IQ, my pass coverage skills, and my downhill speed.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memories are either my first interception during my freshman year or the game where I recorded 18 tackles.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Some of the best players I’ve played with or against are Shawn Lee Jr., Kevin Brown, Elias Coke, Messiah Mickens, Joey O’Brien, Gavin Sidwar, and many more.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give is to focus on consistency and work ethic. Those are the two main things you can control as a player.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
The place I would travel to is the Bahamas. That’s somewhere I definitely want to go.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football at the age of 2–3. As soon as I could walk, I was holding a football.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, I’d meet Fred Warner.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was when the Patriots came back to win the Super Bowl against the Falcons.
