The Princeton Guard From Pennsylvania: Konrad Kiszka
Konrad Kiszka was born in, Newton, Pennsylvania and plays Guard for Princeton. He is coming off of his freshman season where he averaged 1.5 Points, 0.5 Rebounds, and 0.2 Assists, while shooting 42.9% from the field. Heading into his sophomore season he is looking to be a big impact on the offensive end for the Tigers.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?
When I was really young I used to love Andre Iguodala, he was a great player and it just so happened that he was on the 76ers, my favorite team. Then later as I developed my game and new players came around, I was inspired by Kevin Durant and Kevin Love, from the things they both do on and off the court.
What Ivy League Team is your biggest rival?
For me, I think it is Penn because they were a school I kind of grew up around, as well as Princeton, I used to go to games and everything, but when I chose to come to Princeton I knew I would have to put all that in the past.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I am not really picky about my music, but I usually listen to some hip hop before games.
What is your offseason training like?
My offseason training this year has been a lot of lifting, that is one of my main goals right now, to get stronger. I have also been joining my trainers ball handling workouts on Zoom and shooting on my own in my backyard.
What parts of your game, do you think transitioned the best from high school to the college level?
I would have to say my shooting, I was always a shooter and tha is key in todayś game.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My goal this season and every other season is to help my team become Ivy League Champions and make it to March Madness.
What are your plans for after you graduate?
After graduation, I would like to keep playing on somewhere in the world for a few years before I settle down with a job, but I am still undecided with my major so I am not sure what I would like to do when basketball is over for me.
What advice would you have for a young basketball player, who has dreams of playing D1?
I know everyone says you need to just keep working hard, but it is true. Without hard work you cannot really get anywhere in sports or life, so really just work as hard as you can and believe in yourself.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I think my sports hero that I would want to meet would be Kobe Bryant. I would want to ask him questions on his mentality and how he became so dominant in the sport. But I would also want to ask him things about his life like his business ideas and family and other, because I know he is a very intelligent man and I would want to learn and pick his brain and see the way he views the world and basketball and many other things.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite in person sports moment was probably when I went to the March Madness Championship game where Villanova beat North Carolina, that was my freshman year of high school. I was a huge Villanova fan then because I am from Pennsylvania and they are a local team. Just seeing them play so well and win on that buzzer beater was just an amazing experience and atmosphere.
