Aberdeen’s Star Defensive Tackle: Xzavier Whittington

Xzavier Whittington is a 3 Star recruit who plays Defensive Tackle at Aberdeen High School. Whittington is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Defensive Tackles in the nation as well. In addition, Whittington is listed as a top 30 recruit in the state of Maryland and is listed as a top 10 Defensive Tackle in the state of Maryland. He is committed to play at James Madison.

Who are some role models in your life?
Role models in my life are my grandfather, my father, and also my mother.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
The artists I listen to really depend. Sometimes I listen to Drake, Autumn, or even Frank Ocean to clear my mind.

What are the strengths of your game?
I would say one of my strengths is my run-stopping ability, it just comes naturally to me.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I played against was Zion Elee my freshman year.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
I would say just have faith in the man above. Even when times get rough, pray and never give up. He will provide if you have faith.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
The place I want to travel to would be Japan.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was six when I fell in love with the game. My mom signed me up randomly, and I loved the sport.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
One sports hero I would want to meet is Aaron Donald. I try to copy his game and add my own touch. If I could meet him and have him help me improve, that would be great.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment of all time was the Minneapolis Miracle. I’m a Vikings fan, and seeing that was unbelievable.
