Upper Merion’s Star Tight End: Nolan Clayton

Nolan Clayton is a 2023 recruit who plays Tight End at Upper Merion High School. Clayton is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Tight Ends in the nation as well. In addition, Clayton is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Pennsylvania and is listed among one of the top Tight Ends in the state of Pennsylvania. He currently holds offers from Army and Yale.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up as a huge Eagles fan and playing QB I loved Kevin Kolb. I also really like Carson Wentz.

What is your offseason training like?

My offseason training consists of being in the weight room 3-5 times a week, nonstop studying my playbook, and getting as much agility work in as possible.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory is probably our game against Boyertown this past season. We ended up losing, but the first half of the game was probably the most fun I’ve ever had. It was pouring so I was pretty much blocking the entire time other than one 40 yard TD I had.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I’ve ever played with has to be my older brother. He is a LB at Ursinus. He is the most high motor kid I’ve ever seen on a football field.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

When I got my first offer I was shocked. It came out of nowhere. I was just so happy. I called my mom and told her right away and other than that, just pure joy.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food has to be boneless honey BBQ wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I realized I was a talented football player once I started playing Tight End. Before that I was a Quarterback and just played for fun.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet any athlete, it would be Carson Wentz. He is my favorite player in the entire NFL.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

As a fan, when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. That is a moment I will never forget.
