University City’s Star Defensive End: Tucker Wojdowski

Tucker Wojdowski is a 3 Star recruit who plays Defensive End at University City High School. Wojdowski is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Defensive Ends in the nation as well. In addition, Wojdowski is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed as a top 10 Defensive End in the state of California. He holds offers from schools such as SMU, UNLV and Southern Miss.

Who are some role models in your life?
My dad, my grandpa, and my coaches in every sport.

What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game are definitely my pass rush on defense and my blocking on offense. Chasing down blocks that put my teammates in position to score means more to me than scoring myself.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memories are the first games of every season. Waiting all that time and then starting the year with a big win while having fun with my teammates has always made season openers special.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played against was offensive tackle Jett Thomas during my sophomore year. He had an incredibly heavy punch and was outstanding in the run game.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Do one thing every day to get better—it all adds up. Be a good person and surround yourself with good people.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d choose Rob Gronkowski.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Definitely the Miracle on Ice.
