The Top Tight End In New Jersey: Charlie Wingfield

Charlie Wingfield is a 3 Star recruit who plays Tight End at Ramapo High School. Wingfield is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 60 Tight End in the nation as well. In addition, Wingfield is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of New Jersey and is listed as the #1 Tight End in the state of New Jersey. He is committed to play at Wake Forest.

Who are some role models in your life?

My whole family. They’ve all pushed me to my limits and have made me into the person I am today.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to Drake and Gunna with my teammates.

What are the strengths of your game?

Some strengths of my game include my route running and physicality.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my football career has to be my team’s comeback win over Northern Highlands.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player l’ve played against has to be Mount Olive offensive tackle Aidan Lynch. 

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

I would just say to outwork everyone around you, stay out of trouble and get good grades.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I’d love to travel somewhere like Bora Bora.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I fell in love with it in 8th grade.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet Cam Newton. 

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

As a fan, my favorite sports moment has got to be when the Panthers went 15-1 in 2015.
