Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are my dad because he’s my biggest critic and helps me stay level-headed; my mom because she teaches me patience; and my grandparents because they are really big on church, so they help me balance my spiritual growth with my physical growth.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to a variety of music depending on my mood. I listen to gospel music, Cuuhraig, Faye Webster, and Bashfortheworld.
What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are my arm talent—I can get the ball down the field—reading the defense and going over my pre-snap reads. I’m also a vocal leader, getting the team hyped up and picking them up when they’re down.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is playing my first high school game as a freshman against one of the toughest teams in the state. I threw 4 touchdowns with almost 300 passing yards.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The toughest player I’ve played against so far is Zay Rainey-Sale. He played for Bethel and is now at UW. I learned to get the ball out faster and to read the field and their alignments from playing against him.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
My advice would be to never doubt yourself, keep your head down and work hard. Always put your faith in God and never compare yourself to anyone else—that’s what I’ve learned from my journey so far.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would want to go to Samoa or Hawaii because I love being able to connect to my culture.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was about 6 or 7 years old. I would always go to my dad’s games and have loved football ever since.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet a sports hero, it would either be Tom Brady or Andrew Luck. Brady because of his longevity and leadership; Luck because of his intelligence and toughness.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite moment as a fan was watching the Killer B era. Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, and Big Ben were so exciting to watch.
