Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are my mom and brother. I say this because they love to push me to my limits, and since my brother couldn’t do it, he loves to see me do it.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I truly enjoy listening to Frank Ocean, Tyler, the Creator, SZA, and more. I don’t necessarily like rap.
What are the strengths of your game?
Some of my strengths in my game are pass protection—I’m quick and really agile—and in the run game, I love to dominate and pancake people.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
I would say my best game was when I played against Atascocita. Last year, I got injured by their team and was out for the season. Getting the opportunity to play against them again really gave me the chance to get my “get back” and dominate. Also, since that game ended 42-41 in Atascocita’s favor, and we hadn’t beaten them in 20 years, if I’m not mistaken, we just balled out as a team in general.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve ever played with is Hayden Wright. I say this because he was a beast overall, and he was the one I looked up to as a role model as well.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
To the kid who aspires to be D1, I’d say: Don’t mess around in the weight room because it really does translate into the actual game. You have to be coachable, because what makes you think a college coach wants an uncoachable player? And lastly, make sure your grades are up because, really and truly, that comes first.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d say California, honestly, just because I’ve never been there, and I’ve heard it’s nice—or Oregon.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with the game ever since I joined football in 7th grade and started off as right guard.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d say Trent Williams because I’d just want to take in all the knowledge I can from him and put it in my bag to use in the game. I’m a great listener, so if someone tells me something, it sticks with me.
