Who are some role models in your life?
A role model in my life is my mother. She has been through so much and still smiles through everything. She never gave up.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to a lot of Rod Wave, Lil Poppa, and YoungBoy to get my mind right before a game.

What are the strengths of your game?
Some strengths I have are that I’m really versatile. I can stop a team’s best player, I’m always flying around sideline to sideline, and I’m really loud on the field.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
I’d say probably winning the state championship game. Another one is when I got injured—it showed and taught me that anything can be taken from you so fast. It helped me start attacking everything head-on.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
KD Cotton from West Charlotte. KD and I have almost the same play style—he’s very versatile, flying around, and he’s a real student of the game. He’s taught me a lot over the years we’ve played together.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I’d give to someone trying to make it D1 is: you have to work when people aren’t watching. Do the little things like taking care of your body and your mental health, and make sure you’re eating right.
Another thing is grades. Everybody can play ball, everybody is good—so you need something that separates you from the rest.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would go to Africa. I have so many questions, and I’d love to see how people live and do things there—just to understand their culture and who they are.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 6 when I fell in love with the game. I loved running around people and scoring touchdowns—stuff like that made me feel great as a kid.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Probably Ed Reed. The way he approached the game was just different.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment was the 2016 run the Panthers went on. I believe we’ll make a deep playoff run again this year.
