In addition, Elkins is listed as the #2 recruit in the state of Indiana and is listed as the #1 Safety in the state of Indiana. He holds offers from schools such as Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan.
Who are some role models in your life?
My main role model is my dad. He always finds the best in every situation. He’s a good guy to be around.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
On game day, I usually listen to Lil Baby. He has a lot of music, so it’s easy to get locked in.
What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are my athleticism and ball skills. I also watch a lot of film.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite football memory is anytime I win. I know that sounds crazy, but I just want to win.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve ever played with is my guy Izayveon Moore—we were a crazy duo on our middle school team. The best player I’ve played against is probably Drake McClurg. I’ve always been one of the best players in the area, so there are a lot of people who’ve never beaten me. I’m about .500 against his teams going back to 2nd grade.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
The advice I’d give to an aspiring D1 athlete is to run your own race. Some people get recruited in middle school, and some not until their senior year. You just have to focus on the work.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere, it’d probably be to some island. I like warm weather and water.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 3 when I fell in love with football. I played on a flag football team and scored every time I got the ball the entire season.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one person in sports, it’d probably be Sauce Gardner. He’s my favorite DB right now.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite moment as a fan was going to see Duke play Kentucky. It was Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish, and Tyler Herro in their first college game.
