The St. Thomas Aquinas Star Sophomore Running Back: Chukwuma Odoh
Chukwuma Odoh is a 2027 recruit who plays Running Back at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Odoh is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Running Backs in the class as well. In addition, Odoh is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the top Running Backs in the state of New Jersey. He holds offers from schools such as Auburn, Syracuse and Duke.
Who are some role models in your life?
My mother, Coach Holman (my head coach), and Coach Tahj (my old youth coach).
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to Drose, NBA Youngboy, and J. Cole to get locked in before a game.
What are the strengths of your game?
One of my strengths is definitely my speed. I also have a combination of size and physicality that helps me stand out.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is going down to nationals in Florida with all my guys during youth ball.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
Even though I’m young, I’ve played with a lot of great players. The best one would have to be Christian Magliacano (MLB at STA), who will be at Colgate this fall.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
You need to constantly work on your craft to separate yourself from others. Talent alone can only take you so far. Don’t get caught up in everything you see on social media. You may see people your age getting offers and exposure, but everyone has a different path. If you keep working, your time will come.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would travel to somewhere in Europe.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 7 years old.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
It would be Bo Jackson.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite moment would have to be in 2014 when I was 6 or 7 years old, and I watched the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl. Since then, they’ve been my favorite team.
