The St. John’s Star Sophomore Quarterback: Nyeem Woods

Nyeem Woods is a 2027 recruit who plays Quarterback at St. John’s College High School. Woods is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Quarterbacks in the class as well. In addition, Woods is listed among one of the top recruits in D.C. and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in D.C. He currently holds offers from USF, Howard and Sacramento State.

Who are some role models in your life?
My role models in life are my whole family. They motivate me, and I look up to each of them in different ways.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
The artist I listen to before games is mostly NBA YoungBoy, along with a few others.

What are the strengths of your game?
Some strengths of my game include my ability to improvise when a play breaks down, my feel for the pocket, and my ability to run when needed.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career is throwing my first varsity touchdown.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played against is Emmett Laws.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I’d give to an aspiring D1 athlete is to put God first in everything you do, work hard, and be patient.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere, I would go to Haiti.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was three years old when I first started playing, and that’s when I knew I loved the game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet a sports hero, it would probably be Cam Ward.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan is watching Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.
