The Next TCU Star QB: Alex Honig

Alex Honig is a 3 Star Quarterback recruit from Germany. Honig is ranked as a Top 25 Pro Style Quarterback in the nation and a Top 600 recruit in the nation. In addition, Honig is also listed as the #1 player from Germany. Alex Honig is committed to play at TCU next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

 I am a big fan of Tom Brady. They way he manages to take over games inspired me when I first started watching the NFL.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

 I have a lot of JCole in my playlist. But I am not trying to get hyped up by the music. I rather want to get in my zone and relax.

What is your offseason training like?

A lot of work in the gym as well as sprint-training. I meet up with my QB-Coach as well to stay on track.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

 We won the southern division in Germany which was pretty cool.

What parts of your game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

 I hope to still be a dangerous running QB as well.

What made TCU stand out from other schools?

The coaches are great the coaching atmosphere at their camps was special. TCU as itself is a beautiful school with a great reputation. Overall it was the first impression which showed me that it was the right fit.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at TCU?

 I want to be the first European QB to start a CFB-game. I want to play a role in bringing TCU back to the throne of the Big12.
