The Next Great Offensive Threat At Charlotte: Elijah Spencer

Elijah Spencer is a 3 Star recruit who plays Wide Receiver at Dutch Fork High School. Spencer is ranked as a Top 220 Wide Receiver in the nation and is a Top 25 recruit in the state of South Carolina. In addition, Spencer is listed as a Top 10 Wide Receiver in the state of South Carolina. Elijah Spencer is committed to play at Charlotte next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

 I was inspired by the work ethic of Jerry Rice, confidence of Chad Johnson, and Play making skills by Julio Jones.

What high school is your biggest rival?

Irmo High School is our biggest rivals, a 10 minute drive from our school.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

 I love to listen to classics to calm my nerves before games like, “A Tribe Called Quest” and “Nas”

What is your offseason training like?

Off season training for me consist of weights and workouts 6 days a week and making sure i’m eating enough food to maintain body weight.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

 My favorite memory from high school football so far would be my ESPN catch vs. Mallard Creek.

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

 My route running and competitiveness

What made Charlotte stand out from other schools?

 It seems that everyone at Charlotte is playing for the same goal and they know what it takes, especially under HC Will Healy.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Charlotte?

i hope to win as many games as possible, break records, and get a useful degree.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Muhammad Ali

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

I grew up a WVU fan in South Carolina so my favorite moment would be when WVU beat Clemson 70-33 in the 2012 Orange Bowl.
