Evan Nelson is a 3 Star recruit who played Point Guard at Salpointe Catholic. Nelson is ranked as the #37 Point Guard in the Class of 2020 and is the #12 recruit in the state of Arizona. In addition, Nelson is also listed as the #2 Point Guard in the state of Arizona. Evan Nelson is committed to play at Harvard this fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?
Growing up Kobe was always my favorite player but as of recently I’d like to pattern my game after Damian Lillard and Trae Young.
What high school was your biggest rival?
Biggest high school rival for my school was Catalina foothills.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Anything Frank Ocean
What is your offseason training like?
Just getting in the gym as much as possible and this summer I’ve been training more so with lifting and speed/agility work.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
Most definitely winning the state championship
What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?
Just the ability to create for teammates and creating for myself when need be and most importantly winning.
What made Harvard stand out from other schools?
Coaching staff, the people there, the school itself
What do you want to accomplish on and off the court during your time at Harvard?
When as many Ivy League titles as possible, make the tournament, go further in the tournament in any past team has been.
