Dionne Sims is a 3 Star recruit who plays Running Back at C.E. King High School. Sims is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked as a top 80 Running Back in the class as well. In addition, Sims is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed as a top 20 Running Back in the state of Texas. He is committed to play at Stephen F. Austin.
Who are some role models in your life?
My dad and my oldest brother are my biggest role models. I look to them for guidance in many of the situations I face, both on and off the field.
What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
Before games, I mainly listen to NBA YoungBoy and Li Rye. Their music gets me locked in and ready to perform at my best.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite career memory was when we played Humble High School. I broke loose for a 60-yard touchdown, and their coaches were so frustrated they threw their headsets. That moment still sticks with me.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
The best player I’ve played with is Kamard Kemble. He was a dominant force on the defensive line and played a huge role in helping us reach the playoffs last year.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Take in what people say when they critique your game—but always stay true to yourself. Do what works best for you, because at the end of the day, no one else is playing your position. You determine your success.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d love to travel to Japan. I’ve heard it’s a beautiful place with a lot of culture and history.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was introduced to football when I was five years old, and ever since then, I’ve been driven to become the best player I can be.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Marshawn Lynch. I’ve always loved watching his highlights—he’s one of the best to ever do it at my position, and I respect the way he plays the game.
What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
My favorite moment as a fan was watching the Rams win the Super Bowl in 2022. I was a huge Rams fan at the time, and that win meant a lot to me.
