Andre Screen was born in, Alexandria, Virginia and played Center at St Stephens & St Agnes High School. Screen is ranked as a Top 20 recruit in the stat of Virginia and is ranked as a Top 3 Center in the state as well. He is committed to play at Bucknell this fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?
Growing up I really was inspired by Melo and KG. Something about Melo and his game was just so smooth. I also loved the passion and fire that KG played with.
What high school is your biggest rival?
Our biggest high school rival at SSSAS was Episocal School. They had good teams but in the last two years of our team playing them we beat them 9 times in a row.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
The songs switch up a lot depending on my mood but I am a big Pop Smoke fan, so he is usually on my pregame playlist.
What is your offseason training like?
For my offseason training I work out at Evolution Basketball with my team trainer Phil around 3 times a week. I also work out alone a lot trying to improve different fascists of my game.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
My favorite memory from high school is winning the state championship my junior year.
What parts of your high school game, do you hope transition to the college level?
The parts of my game that I hope to transition to the college level are my ability to score effectively from the post and my ability to protect the rim. I also plan to expand my game a lot more in college.
What made Bucknell stand out from other schools?
Bucknell stood out to me because of the coaches, success, and environment. I liked the coaches at the implementation of the bigs in the offense. The program has a history of success in the Patriot League and I intend to continue that success. And for the environment I really just felt good vibes from the people at Bucknell from my future teammates to everyday students.
What do you want to accomplish on and off the court during your time at Bucknell?
I want to be the best at Bucknell. I want to win championships and make it to the NCAA Tournament. I want to do it all. As for off the court, I want to enrich my person and develop. I want to get out of my comfort zone and try to do new things.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, it would be MJ. He is the GOAT, and I have been reading books and collecting his cards ever since I was little.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment is of the Big 3 of the Boston Celtics winning their first championship together. That was the first finals I watched and it is what made the Celtics my favorite team.
