Matai Fuiava is a 2026 recruit who plays Quarterback at St. John Bosco High School. In addition, Fuiava is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in the state of California. He currently holds offers from Arizona and UNLV.
Why do you think you and the team were successful this past season?
I think we were successful because we really played as a team. We played together, we stook together, and we fought as brothers.
What will it take for you and the team to be successful this upcoming season?
It will take a lot of the younger guys stepping up into leadership roles. Our offense is really young, so we’re going to have to grow up real fast. On the defensive side, we’re retaining a solid portion of the starters, so it really falls on the offense to mature.
What was your experience like on your visit to Oregon?
I loved it. Having the opportunity to talk to coaches of that standard is an amazing feeling. It’s hard to explain, it’s just simply amazing. It’s one of the things that keeps you humble.
What schools are you talking to right now that have yet to offer you?
Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Oregon, and Washington. I’m going to be visiting Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and Washington. I love all these schools that have recruited me so far, they’ve all shown interest.
What are your goals for your sophomore season?
For my sophomore season, I would say my main goal right now is to be the best version of myself that I can be. I would like to compete for that starting spot, and right now I’m working as hard as I can to make that happen. If that’s not what’s in store for me, then I will be the best backup that I can be.
How would you describe the team chemistry at St. John Bosco?
Our brotherhood is our most important aspect of our team. I would describe our team as a tight group of brothers who have a lot of chemistry with one another.
