Spencer Shannon is a 3 Star recruit who plays Tight End at Mater Dei High School. Shannon is ranked among the top 800 recruits in the nation and is ranked among the top 40 Tight Ends in the nation as well. In addition, Shannon is listed as a top 70 recruit in the state of California and is listed as the #3 Tight End in the state of California. Spencer Shannon is committed to play at Texas next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

I was mainly inspired by Gronk. His size and athleticism were just amazing to watch.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

My pregame music includes either rap or Jack Johnson depending on how I’m feeling before the game.

What is your offseason training like?

My offseason training consists of five days a week practice at school, with training at Saddle Back Strength throughout the week.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career so far was breaking multiple tackles and dragging a kid into the end zone for a touchdown, and being able to celebrate with the guys in the end zone right after scoring.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have ever played with is David Bailey, an Outside Linebacker now at Stanford.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

My reaction to my first offer was just a feeling of being extremely blessed and excited.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is a burrito from Chipotle.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I’d say it would definitely have to be Gronk.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment as a fan is when George Kittle pancaked a defender while completely laughing.
