In addition, McCarty is listed as a top 30 recruit in the state of Texas and is listed as the #3 Defensive End in the state of Texas. He holds offers from schools such as Ole Miss, Arizona and Miami.

Who are some role models in your life?
My biggest role models are my mom and dad. They lead by example and have always shown me the importance of staying focused and working hard.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get hyped up?
Before games, I lock in with Yto Fatt, Fto Sett, Wizz Havin, and Gunna.

What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are my length, agility, and football IQ. I know how to use my physical tools, and I can read plays before they unfold.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Two moments really stand out: getting my first offer and starting my first varsity game as a freshman. Both were major milestones for me.

Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
Trey Owens from Cy-Fair High School. He’s the real deal—playing against him challenged me and made me better.

What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Keep working, trust the process, and never get comfortable. The grind never stops, even after the offers come.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Australia. I’ve always been interested in the wildlife and nature there.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football when I was about five years old and haven’t looked back since.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Colin Simmons. I see a lot of similarities in our games and would love to learn from him.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
Going to the Texans vs. Browns playoff game with my dad. That experience is something I’ll never forget.
