Who are some role models in your life?
My role models are my dad, Javarious Sr., and my cousin, Lemone Buford. I say this because I want to be better than them, not just like them or close to them.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to a lot of rappers before the game—people like CEO Draco, Future, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, FSG Groovey, and sometimes Kelo Gee. Most of those rappers are local, but I still support them because we all come from the same place.

What are the strengths of your game?
I feel that yards after the catch and 50/50 balls are my strengths. I’m a playmaker—if the ball is in my hands, I’m going to make a play.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is the last game my grandmother, Tara Marshall, got to see me play. I caught the game-winning touchdown while the weather was bad and I had big clothes on, so that game will always be special to me.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best players I’ve played alongside are Kalep Perry and Lacoyrius Branch. They are equal to me because both of them were great playmakers. The best player I’ve played against is Dre Riley, a Mississippi State signee. He went crazy against us my freshman year.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
I feel the best advice I could give is to be the best player you can be. People can always have an opinion on who the best player ever is, but no one can say you could have done more if you’re giving your absolute best every day.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would want to travel to Dubai because of the scenery. People from where I’m from don’t usually make it out or even go that far.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was exactly 7 years old. I lost my first-ever tackle football game and cried because I played up two age groups, so I was going against players who were 11 and 12 years old. When I started playing against kids around my own age, I dominated and realized I loved the sport.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would want to meet Kobe Bryant so I could learn more about his work ethic. Since I can’t, I’d want to meet Tom Brady to gain his understanding of the game and use it to help myself.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
As an eighth grader, I was invited to the Under Armour All-America Game. I got to watch some of the best high school football players in the country compete. That was a big moment for me because I saw how much recognition they were receiving and told myself that one day it would be me earning that same type of respect.
