Who are some role models in your life?
My dad and my granddads.
What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
I listen to Brandon Lake and try to get my focus right before a game. I used to get too hyped.
What are the strengths of your game?
I would say my leadership on and off the field, and my playmaking ability once I’m on the field. I want to win and will do everything I can to help the team succeed.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Going undefeated this past year and winning our region championship after moving up to a bigger division. It was a great team win. Another favorite memory is traveling all over the country with my parents, visiting schools, and going to camps.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Enjoy every moment of it—the hard work, the competition, the pressure. Sometimes it feels like you have to be perfect 24/7, but at the end of the day, just be yourself. You can have a life outside of football, but do something that will make you better as a person.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would go to Israel to see where much of the Bible took place and where Jesus walked. My dad has been three times and talks about it all the time.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 10 years old. I played during my 8U year and didn’t like it. Took a year off and played baseball and basketball, but then realized I missed football. I came back, we went undefeated and won a championship, and that’s when I fell in love with the game.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I think it would be Tim Tebow. He balanced being a superstar with maintaining his witness in Christ, and that’s really impressive. I look up to him a lot. Bo Nix is another one I’d put in that category.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Being on a visit to App State and seeing Chase Brice throw a Hail Mary to win the game against Troy a few years back. College GameDay was there and Luke Combs was the guest picker. It was an unbelievable first game visit for me.
