Carter Barrett is a 4 Star recruit who plays Interior Offensive Line at Dowling Catholic High School. Barrett is ranked as the 97th best recruit in the class of 2028 and is ranked as the #5 Interior Offensive Lineman in the class as well. In addition, Barrett is listed as the #2 recruit in the state of Iowa and is listed as the #1 Interior Offensive Lineman in the state of Iowa. He holds offers from schools such as Alabama, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

Who are some role models in your life?
My role models are my dad, Kadyn Proctor, and my trainer.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
Some artists I listen to before games are NBA YoungBoy, G40, and Chucky.

What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are how violent I play on the field, how I finish blocks, and my high football IQ. I’m also very coachable.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory so far is my second varsity start as a freshman—beating the best team in the state at the time, who was also our rival, in overtime on 4th down at the goal line.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
The best players I’ve played with or against are either Asher Ghioto, who I played against in the All-American game, or Rashawd Davis, who was our running back last year.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Consistency and focus are vital to playing at that level. Also, learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable—things will be difficult, and people may see you differently during the process, but that’s part of the journey.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d like to travel to Germany because I enjoy learning about history, and many tragic events occurred there. It would be cool to see it and learn more about it.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I would say I was around 12 years old when I fell in love with football.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
One sports hero I would want to meet is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Even though he’s not a football player, I respect his story, admire him as a person, and want to learn about his values.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was when the Rams won the Super Bowl a few years ago. They’re my favorite team, and I really wanted Aaron Donald to win one before retiring.
