  1. cooper is the most poised for his age I have seen at the position. Years ago I also started at qb for Sevier County as a soph, jun, and senior. I worked till 8 am every day throwing 5-800 passes to anyone willing to hang around and catch them. I ran the stadium time after time alone, danced the ropes and the dots to get quicker. and did footwork religiously. All of this was simply to take a below average quarterback and try to transform him into a somewhat mediocre one, and that is what I did. I gave it my all, but I simply did not begin with the gifts that Cooper has in his left strand of DNA alone. Im am satisfied that I got all I could get out of what I was borned with, I was indeed the best I could be. Unfortunately that still left my teams going 2-8, 3-7, and 2-8 in 80-81-82.

Cooper is blessed with so much raw and inate abilities that come from God and others who have guided him, that is he works his behind off like I did, pushing yourself when there is no one else there to push you, never being satisfied with being one of best qbs in the state even at this young moment in which we speak, but if he will view himself like the below average naturally gifted one who is going to have to outwork them all if he wants to be the best, Then Cooper can not just go from slightly average to maybe in tthe end….pretty good. Instead he can go from jawdroping awesome as he is now already spoken of with the elite. But He has the potential to simply be the best qu ever in TN, He can become one of the best to ever to toss the half stripe in history.

Payton Manning, Tom Brady, Larry Bird, Kobey, These guys were still the first to hit practice and the last to leave, long after they had already become the best. Their competition was never the other players, they competed with themselves. No matter how good I am, can I still get just a little bit better today?

That drive is what made them great. A great bood teaches that the biggest enemoy of a business/person /whatever developing into greatness, is not our failures we make along the way, but the biggest enemy of greatness is simply goodness. Its easy to rest once you get good.

I am encouring Cooper Newman to never feel like he is good, no matter how good he truly may be. For Cooper has something I could only dream of having 40 years ago. And that is the opportunity to be Great!

I look forward watching him strive for it, and I cannot wait for the day when he becomes it.

    God bless Cooper newman
