The #2 Defensive End In Colorado: Chase Brackney

Chase Brackney is a 3 Star recruit who plays Defensive End at Cherry Creek High School. Brackney is ranked among the top 600 recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 50 Defensive End in the nation as well. In addition, Brackney is listed as the #4 recruit in the state of Colorado and is listed as the #2 Defensive End in the state of Colorado. Chase Brackney is committed to play at Iowa next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Yes, growing up I was inspired by several NFL players and I still am today.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

The songs that I listen to before games go along the lines of reggae music along with some oldies because I like to feel relaxed.

What is your offseason training like?

Offseason training is one of the things that I constantly stress over. You always want to be getting yourself better and better, but at the same time you don’t want to over train yourself.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My most memorable moment would be winning the state game. There was so much work put into that season on and off the field. Seeing it all come together was just an incredible experience.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player that I’ve ever played with would be George Fitzpatrick, going against him at practice was great. I would also mention playing Blake Purchase.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

My reaction to my first offer just felt like a dream come true. It didn’t really sink in until I was walking back to my class.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is this pasta that my girlfriend Neeki makes me.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Meeting TJ Watt would be very cool because I am a Steelers fan, and would like to pick his brain a little.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment as a fan would be The Minneapolis Miracle. When I was out eating dinner with my family everyone started going crazy and I got to see the replay on TV.
