The #1 Sophomore Long Snapper In Maryland: Hunter Solwold

Hunter Solwold is a 2025 recruit who plays Long Snapper at Loyola Blakefield High School. Solwold is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2025 and is ranked as the #2 Long Snapper in the class as well. In addition, Solwold is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Maryland and is listed as the #1 Long Snapper in the state of Maryland.

Who are some role models in your life?

My dad and Indianapolis Colts Long Snapper Luke Rhodes.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Tyler the Creator, Drake, Biggie, and others.

What are the strengths of your game?

As a Long Snapper, speed and size with athletic ability. As a Receiver, hands, strength, speed, and size.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

I have a few, but one of my top ones would be rushing the field after we beat Calvert Hall in the 101 Turkey Bowl my freshman year.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

I have had the privilege to play with some very gifted athletes at Loyola including guys like Jayden Moore, Kendrick Worthington, and Anto Saka. I’ve played against some phenomenal players in my class like Malik Washington, Jeff Exinor, and others.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Just don’t lose any type of motivation to train physically or mentally everyday. Know your “why” in why you want to play D1 college football and stick by that.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

This may sound odd but Wisconsin, I love it there and most of my family lives up there.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

Honestly as long as I can remember. Especially when I found out at a young age how accomplished my dad was and what he did for the game. I was hooked immediately, wanting to be just like him.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would love to meet Kobe Bryant. I would ask him questions about his work ethic and how he overcame things in life that he didn’t want to do, and what it takes to be a professional athlete.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

As a fan, I really enjoyed watching Alabama win the National Championship in 2020 and seeing what a great team they had that year.
