In addition, Deloatch is listed as a top 20 recruit in the state of North Carolina and is listed as the #1 Linebacker in the state of North Carolina. He is committed to play at Rutgers.
Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are my parents, of course. My mom, because I remember watching her when I was 6, go to work every day while fighting breast cancer. While going through chemo, surgeries, she showed so much strength.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I usually listen to Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill and Faneto by Chief Keef.
What are the strengths of your game?
One of the biggest strengths of my game is my football IQ.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
I think my favorite football memory would be the goal line stop last year in the conference championship.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player that I have ever played with is probably Jimmyll Williams, he’s at Virginia State University now playing football and baseball. The best player that l’ve played against is hard to say, but l’ve played against Wesley Grimes (NC State), Nathan Leacock (Tennessee), and Noah Rogers (NC State).
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
You come into high school with a 4.0, stay focused on staying as close to that as you can. Your football play may get you looks, but the grades make you recruitable.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world it would probably be Tokyo, Japan. I love the car scene there and it seems like a great place to visit.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I started playing tackle football at 5 years old with the Pop Warner Durham Eagles.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Ray Lewis.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan is Marshawn Lynch’s beast quake run.
