The #1 Kicker In Missouri: Joey Scardina

Joey Scardina is a 2024 recruit who plays Kicker at Rock Bridge High School. Scardina is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked as a top 40 Kicker in the class as well. In addition, Scardina is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Missouri and is listed as the #1 Kicker in the state of Missouri.

Who are some role models in your life?

My dad is one of my biggest role models. I look up to him in so many ways and he sacrifices so much for me to be where I am today.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Yeat is awesome, the song “Big Tonka” gets me hype every time.

What are the strengths of your game?

One of the biggest strengths of my game is that I always give my 100%. Whether it’s on defense having to bounce back every play or having to make a game deciding kick.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory was probably this year when we won our game to advance to the district championship.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have played with is my current quarterback Sam Kaiser or linebacker Grayson Cutchlow, they both have multiple D1 offers.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

A piece of advice I would give is that you have to want it. You have to train when you’re tired and give it your all every time you train. Go the extra mile and do the little things, in the end those extra steps will produce the results you want.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would love to travel and explore Europe.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was in 3rd grade when I found out I loved the sport.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Brian Dawkins, his mentality is like none other.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

As a fan, when Mizzou beat Florida with a trick play in overtime a few years ago.
