Martin Connington is a 2024 recruit who plays Kicker at Mountain View High School. Connington is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked as the #3 Kicker in the class as well. In addition, Connington is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Idaho and is listed as the #1 Kicker in the state of Idaho. He currently holds offers from Boise State and Idaho.
Who are some role models in your life?
My role models would definitely have to be my parents, they shaped me into who I am today.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I don’t listen to music to get hyped up, I use it to get calmed down. I listen to Beethoven.
What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game are my ability to send kickoffs deep outside the back of the end zone whilst also still being accurate on field goals.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career would have to be the six field goals I made in one game.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I’ve played with quite a few good players in my opinion. Collin Rogers who was a receiver for my current school, Seth Knothe who was a running back at my previous school, and Rakeem Johnson who was also at my previous school as well.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would have to give is that even if it looks like you aren’t getting any looks, keep working. We don’t get many chances to show what we got, but when we do they need to count.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I have always wanted to travel to Japan, a culture I have wanted to learn about since I was little.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
The first time I fell in love with the game was at my first kicking camp with many of my friends that I have today.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would want to meet Pat McAfee.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan would definitely have to be when Evan McPherson kicked the game winner against the Chiefs to send the Bengals to the Super Bowl.
