Matt Ponatoski is a 4 Star recruit who plays Quarterback at Archbishop Moeller High School. Ponatoski is ranked as the 232nd best recruit in the class of 2026 and is ranked as a top 20 Quarterback in the class as well. In addition, Ponatoski is listed as a top 15 recruit in the state of Ohio and is listed as the #1 Quarterback in the state of Ohio. Who are some role models in your life?

Jordan Marshall who is at Michigan. He was a guy that I played with last year and we are in similar spots as far as having publicity. He is someone who handles it really well so it is nice to pick his brain.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to Adele on the bus before the game.

What are the strengths of your game?

I can read a defense and make reads quickly with confidence. I can also push the ball down field with a strong arm and possess the ability to get out of the pocket and keep my eyes down field.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

Winning after Thanksgiving in semifinals. I made it to the game two years in a row and lost, so winning it the third time was awesome.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

In football it’s Jordan Marshall no doubt. In baseball I played against Cam Caminiti who was drafted last year, he threw 92 at like 14 years old.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Stay true to yourself and be where your feet are.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I want to see what Hawaii is all about.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I started football at 4 years old and have never stopped since.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

CJ Stroud because of the man he is and how he carry’s himself.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Watching the national championship every year.
