Donovyn Hunter is a 4 Star recruit who plays Guard at South Medford High School. Hunter is ranked as the 98th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a top 35 Guard in the nation as well. In addition, Hunter is listed as the #2 recruit in the state of Oregon and is listed as the #1 Guard in the state of Oregon. Donovyn Hunter is committed to play at Oregon State next fall.

Who are some role models in your life?

My role models would have to be my own parents, the way they work hard and put all their efforts into the things they love the most. 

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Depending on the day I’ll listen to worship music, a lot of Lauren Daigle or I’ll listen to Rod Wave. 

What are the strengths of your game?

My strengths within the game are my court vision, being able to see the floor well to feed my teammates at the right time, and then my defensive efforts.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory within my sports career has to be any social aspect of it, meeting lifelong best friends and creating the bonds that I’ve created.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have played against would be Hailey Van Lith. I scrimmaged against her way back and played against her when she was younger and her attention to detail within the game is like no other.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

The best advice I’d give to aspiring d1 athletes would be focus on what you can control. Everything outside your box doesn’t matter, put your head down and grind and the rest will happen if it’s meant to be.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would probably be Italy or Greece.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Kobe Bryant, to sit and talk with a guy that had his mentality, I would do that in a heartbeat 

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Probably March Madness tournaments, getting to watch the championship games. That’s when I’m most into games and will highlight in my head for a while after.
