In addition, Wood is listed as the #4 recruit in the state of Illinois and is listed as the #1 Forward in the state of Illinois. Jordan Wood is committed to play at Michigan State next fall.
Who are some role models in your life?
A really big role model in my life is my mom. I look up to her because no matter what she’s going through or what her caseload looks like she makes sure everything gets done, especially for my sister and I.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Some artists I listen to for pregame hype are Gunna, Lil Baby, and Rod Wave.
What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game are how fast I am able to cover the floor when transitioning from offense to defensive, because of my length advantage. Also the way I read plays and my ability to communicate to my teammates.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is definitely by far winning state with my high school team. Hearing the buzzer go off knowing everything we worked so hard for that past season was worth it was just the best feeling.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
One of the best and most fun players to play with is Lenee Beaumont. She’s just all around a great player and possesses the ability to score at all levels. You just enjoy every moment on and off the court with her.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give to someone looking to play college basketball at the division one level would be to not get caught up in the rankings and what other people think. As long as you are working on getting better that’s all that matters.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Probably Sweden because I’m a really big fan of snowy winters and based on the pictures and videos I’ve seen they have a really pretty winter.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I started playing basketball in kindergarten, but I really fell in love with it and took it seriously wanting to play at the next level in 7th grade.
