In addition, Downs is listed as the #2 recruit in the state of Oklahoma and is listed as the #1 Defensive Lineman in Oklahoma. Ethan Downs is committed to play at Oklahoma next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Adrian Peterson has always been my favorite player. I haven’t ever been consistent in watching Professional Football but I am a Sooner fan and my family grew up watching him and I love his grit.

What high school is your biggest rival?

The Clinton Red Tornadoes are our school rivals.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I usually just vibe to whatever the team is rocking in the locker room. I do not have a set pregame routine.

What is your offseason training like?

The offseason is a mentality to be the fastest, strongest, and best me. Grind out every single day, push for the maxes every day, push for the records every day, and challenge my body and mind so I can put so much more out when I’m in season.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

There has been several great memories. Playing a 4 hour long high school game this year with my team was flat out fun and I wished it wouldn’t gone on forever.

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

I hope to bring my leadership role and mentality to the team and culture. Leave the University better than I found it.

What made Oklahoma stand out from other schools?

Oklahoma is my dream school and my heart has been committed there since I was a kid dreaming of being on tv playing for the Sooners.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Oklahoma?

I want to be a National Champion. I want to be an All American. I want to be the team captain. I want to be a teammate that the other players are inspired to follow and rely on off the field. I also want to be involved in FCA and the church to grow my wisdom and spirit.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

A sports hero… the one that comes to mind is Muhammad Ali. Even though he is passed, I would want to me him.
