St. Thomas More’s Star Athlete: Ty Curran

Ty Curran is a 2024 recruit who is an Athlete at St. Thomas More High School. Curran is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Athletes in the class as well. In addition, Curran is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Connecticut and is listed among one of the top Athletes in the state of Connecticut. He holds offers from schools such as Rhode Island, Ball State, and Bowling Green.

Who are some role models in your life?

The biggest role model in my life is definitely my dad. The reason being is he has done what I am trying to do as he went to a division 1 school on a full scholarship and then played in the NFL for 7+ years. He has been my biggest inspiration and has been with me every step of the way, helping me become the man and player I am today.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

A few artists that I listen to pregame are Meek Mill and Rick Ross. Dreams and Nightmares and Ima Boss are my go to songs.

What are the strengths of your game?

I would say the strengths of my game have to be my speed and ability to change direction whether I am running routes or have the ball in my hands. I am also a coach’s kid and embrace coaching and understand the game very well.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career is probably the first touchdown of my high school career as a freshman.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have ever played against is probably 5 star KJ Bolden from Buford. It was at a 7on7 tournament in Myrtle Beach and we had a good battle. I scored two touchdowns on him and had a few catches, but he was definitely the best defensive back I have ever gone against.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Some advice I have is to keep your head down and work. Every college football player has a different journey. Whether you get offers early in your career, get them just before signing day, or don’t get any at all, you can never be satisfied and you can never let anyone outwork you.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be to Hawaii.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was probably 3 years old when I fell in love with the game, after watching my dad play in an NFL game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one sports hero, it would be Julian Edelman.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was the goal line pick by Malcolm Butler in Super Bowl 49.
