St. John Bosco’s Star Sophomore Safety: Dillon Davis

Dillon Davis is a 4 Star recruit who plays Safety at St. John Bosco High School. Davis is ranked as the 280th best recruit in the class of 2027 and is ranked as a top 25 Safety in the class as well. In addition, Davis is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of California and is listed as a top 10 Safety in the state of California. He holds offers from schools such as Texas, Texas A&M and Arizona.

Who are some role models in your life?
The biggest role models in my life are the people who take care of me—my parents and grandparents. They’ve always made sure I can chase my dreams, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Pregame, I actually like to stay calm and focused. I usually go with artists like SZA, J. Cole, and Drake to help me lock in.

What are the strengths of your game?
My biggest strength is my versatility. I can line up at almost any position on defense, and I show up every day ready to do my job and make an impact.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is when I first started playing football. Back then, there weren’t any outside distractions—it was just you, your teammates, the game, and pure fun.

Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
The best players I’ve ever had to go against are on my own team. That’s how it should be—practice should be harder than the game so that game day feels easy.

What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Be patient and don’t plate-watch. Focus on what you can control, and always put in the extra work. That’s what separates the good from the great.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d go to Japan. The scenery, the culture, and the food are all things I’d love to experience firsthand.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football as soon as I understood what it was. Watching my older brother’s practices made me want to get out there, even though I was too young to play at the time.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet any sports hero, it would be Kobe. I know he’d have given me some powerful mental advice that would stay with me forever.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
As a fan, my favorite moment was watching prime Odell Beckham Jr. in action. Even as a defensive player, I couldn’t help but enjoy watching what he did on the field.
