St. John Bosco’s Star Freshman Quarterback: Matai Fuiava
Matai Fuiava is a 2026 recruit who plays Quarterback at St. John Bosco High School. Fuiava is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Quarterbacks in the class as well. In addition, Fuiava is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in the state of California. He currently holds an offer from Arizona State.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Growing up, I would say my inspiration would probably have to be Marcus Mariota because of his background. Being a Polynesian I found that dope because when most people think of poly football players they think big lineman or strong backers, but he broke the boundary being a QB.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

What is your offseason training like?
My offseason training is along the lines of 2 trainings a day 5-6 days a week because you always need a recovery day.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
I would say my favorite memory is playing in this one all star game and hearing the national anthem and getting chills.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I would say the best player I’ve ever played against would be Joshua Holland II, he was locking down every one of my Wide Receivers and I couldn’t throw to his side.
What was your reaction to getting your first offer?
My reaction while getting my first offer was definitely excited and grateful that they would trust me enough to offer me.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food would definitely have to be shabu shabu, it hits the spot all the time.
When did you realize you were talented at football?
I realized I had potential around 10 years old.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, it would definitely be Marcus Mariota. just to pick his brain and hear how he thinks.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan, was when every sport paid respect to Kobe and did something in their sport to symbolize him.
