St. Anne’s Next Star Wideout: Jaerron Johnson
Jaerron Johnson is a 2027 recruit who plays Wide Receiver at St. Anne’s-Belfield High School. Johnson is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Wide Receivers in the class as well. In addition, Johnson is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Virginia and is listed among one of the top Wide Receivers in the state of Virginia. He currently holds an offer from Virginia Tech.
Who are some role models in your life?
My grandfather and my dad. They set good examples on how to be an excellent black man and just a good human being in general.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
It really varies on the day. It will always involve some King Von or recently EST Gee. I will always end with Dreams and Nightmares, it’s just the pinnacle of warmup songs.
What are the strengths of your game?
I think my speed and route running. My route running allows me to get open and my speed lets me run away from people. I also have size, so I’m able to go up top on people when needed.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My last middle school game ever. It was a back and forth battle all game. Went to the very last minute. I had 3 touchdowns and an interception. We got one final pick to end the game and we won a hard fought game.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Dyzier Carter. We sometimes work out together with my trainer and guarding him during one on one’s is very difficult and a great challenge. We push each other to get better every time.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Sports are hard. Some days you’re just not going to have it. That’s where your work and your heart comes in. That’s when you got to make the little things matter more. Always compete no matter what. You lose a rep cool, hop back up and run it again.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I really want to go to Bora Bora. It is my dream that my talents will one day allow me to buy a house there.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
A baby. My dad had me when he was in college so watching him made me fall in love with it.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I really want to meet Usain Bolt, I aspire to run a lot like him.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
I love horses and horse racing, so probably watching American Pharoah win the Triple Crown.
