Southlake Carroll’s Star Freshman Receiver: Jaylen Pile
Jaylen Pile is a 2026 recruit who plays Wide Receiver at Southlake Carroll High School. Pile is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Wide Receivers in the class as well. In addition, Pile is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed among one of the top Wide Receivers in the state of Texas. He holds offers from schools such as Penn State, Virginia Tech and Duke.
Who are some role models in your life?
My mom and dad are my role models. They both work really hard and my dad played football in the NFL so he definitely is someone I look up to.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to all kinds of music, but NBA YoungBoy and Drake are the ones that get me hyped up before a game.
What are the strengths of your game?
My route running and hands are what set me apart. I run the complete route tree. I work really hard with my WR Coach, Margin Hooks to get it right.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Getting my first offer from Virginia Tech stands out in my mind.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played against is Julian Lewis. I played against him in the FBU Championship in 7th grade.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Work hard on your craft everyday.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I really like the beach, so any beach.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I’ve loved football since I was born. As a baby, I would go to all my dad’s games when he played for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would love to meet Randy Moss.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment is the Minneapolis Miracle.
