Evan Harvey is a 3 Star recruit who plays Defensive End at Sandy Creek High School. Harvey is ranked as the 863rd best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a top 80 Defensive End in the nation as well. In addition, Harvey is listed as a top 100 recruit in the state of Georgia and is listed as a top 15 Defensive End in the state of Georgia. He is committed to play at Memphis.
Who are some role models in your life?
My mom, dad, and grandparents are definitely my biggest role models. I admire how hard they work in everything they do. I also really look up to my uncle, Scott Beavers—he played Division I football and went on to the NFL. Seeing his path helps fuel my own ambition.
What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
Raq Baby, Lazerdim 700, and Ken Carson. Their energy helps me lock in and get in the right headspace before a game.
What are the strengths of your game?
My fast get-off and speed off the edge are my biggest strengths. I take pride in how quickly I can disrupt plays and put pressure on the offense.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Winning a state championship my freshman year. Being a part of something that big so early in my career gave me a taste of what’s possible when you fully commit.
Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
During my freshman year, I was surrounded by high-level guys like Marcellus Pulliam, Kaleb Cost, Geimere Latimer, and Cameron Watts. Watching their preparation and work ethic helped shape how I approach the game today. It showed me what it really takes to reach the next level.
What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Never give up on yourself. Just because you’re not the best at 9 or 10 years old doesn’t mean you won’t be. Keep believing, keep grinding, and when it counts, you’ll be right where you’re meant to be.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Dubai. I’ve heard it’s beautiful and full of energy—I’d love to experience that firsthand.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football at age five. I was hooked right away—loved tackling and going after the ball. That physicality pulled me in and never let go.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Stephen Curry.
What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
The “Kick Six.”
