Saguaro’s Star Sophomore Cornerback: Elijah Carothers

Elijah Carothers is a 2027 recruit who plays Cornerback at Saguaro High School. Carothers is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Cornerbacks in the class as well. In addition, Carothers is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Arizona and is listed among one of the top Cornerbacks in the state of Arizona. He currently holds offers from Iowa State, Bowling Green and Central Michigan.

Who are some role models in your life?
My role models are definitely my mother and father because they both work hard to provide for me and my siblings.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Before a game, I listen to NBA YoungBoy and Meek Mill. They really get me in the zone.

What are the strengths of your game?
Some strengths I have are my relentless mindset, next-play mentality, and the belief that I’m the best player on the field.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is when my youth team went undefeated throughout the entire season.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
My advice is that if you really want something, you have to work for it. It’s never going to come easy, so put in the hard work and stay committed to your goals.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would choose Japan. It seems like an amazing place to visit.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football when I was 4 years old.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, it would be Michael Jordan or Ray Lewis. Both are icons in their own right.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan has to be when Odell Beckham Jr. made his iconic one-handed catch.
