Robinson’s Star Sophomore Quarterback: Brice McCurdy

Brice McCurdy is a 3 Star recruit who plays Quarterback at Robinson High School. McCurdy is ranked as the 405th best recruit in the class of 2027 and is ranked as a top 30 Quarterback in the class as well. In addition, McCurdy is listed as a top 50 recruit in the state of Texas and is listed as the #5 Quarterback in the state of Texas. He holds offers from schools such as Ole Miss, TCU and Kansas.

Who are some role models in your life?
My biggest role models are definitely my parents. They push me to my limits every day because they see the potential in me. They know what I can become in life and keep me focused on that vision.

What are the strengths of your game?
I’m a true dual-threat quarterback. I can drop back and throw for 300 yards, or if the pocket breaks down, I’ll take off and make plays with my legs. I can go deep on any defense and always keep the pressure on.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Playing with all the seniors last year was special. That group was by far our best squad, and I learned a lot from them. I’m excited to take that experience and thrive going forward.

Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
Jamarion Vincent from Connally. He’s an elite athlete and someone I love competing against—it brings the best out of both of us.

What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Keep pushing. The path is never easy, and there will be obstacles, but your mentality has to be strong. Stay focused, trust your process, and never fold under pressure.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Japan. I’ve always been curious to see how advanced their culture and lifestyle are compared to the rest of the world.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was about five years old. The moment I started playing, I knew it was something I couldn’t walk away from. It’s been a passion ever since.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Tom Brady, no question. I’d love to see his mindset up close and understand how he approaches the game and life in general.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
Watching Texas Tech and Baylor face off.
