Pickerington Central’s Star Sophomore Running Back: Edmund McAllister III

Edmund McAllister III is a 2029 recruit who plays Running Back at Pickerington Central High School. During his freshman season he eclipsed over 1,100 rushing yards to go along with 16 touchdowns. Helping lead his team to an 11-2 mark last season, it comes as no surprise that he was named a MaxPreps Freshman All American and has more than 20 offers including Auburn, Louisville and NC State.

Who are some role models in your life?
My biggest role models are my mother, Tori McAllister, my father, Edmund McAllister Jr., and Sonny Styles. They have all influenced me in different ways and helped shape the person and athlete I am today.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Before games, I listen to G Herbo, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and NBA YoungBoy. Their music helps me get focused, confident, and ready to compete.

What are the strengths of your game?
The biggest strengths of my game are my speed, elusiveness, and football IQ. I feel like those qualities allow me to make plays in different ways and give me an advantage on the field.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is from when I was 9 years old and scored eight touchdowns in one game. That was a special moment for me and one of the memories that has always stood out throughout my football career.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I have ever played against is my godbrother, Geo McKnight. He is currently a four-star prospect in the Class of 2028 and holds 31 offers. Competing against someone at his level has helped push me to become a better player.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
My biggest piece of advice is to surround yourself with like-minded people and stay away from the wrong crowds. You become a reflection of the people you spend the most time around, so it is important to surround yourself with people who have similar goals, work ethic, and ambitions.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to travel to Dubai. It seems like an incredible place with a unique culture, amazing architecture, and a lot of experiences I would love to see for myself.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was four years old when I fell in love with football. I have loved the game ever since, and it has become a major part of who I am.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
It would have to be either LeBron James or Deion Sanders. Both have had a tremendous impact on sports and have changed the way their respective games are played and viewed. I would love the opportunity to hear about their journeys and learn from their experiences.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan is Odell Beckham Jr.’s iconic one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys. It was an incredible display of athleticism and one of those plays that I will always remember watching.
