Levi Onwuzurike-Washington Defensive Lineman

Levi Onwuzurike is a Senior who plays Defensive Lineman at the University of Washington. Levi is coming off of his Junior season where he had 20 Tackles and 2 Sacks. The Pac-12 has cancelled its football season , so Levi is looking towards the 2020 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be a top prospect.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Yes, I was actually inspired by Demarco Murray from Oklahoma, I wanted to play Running Back back in the day. The way he played just fit my vision of myself.

What team is your biggest rival?

I would say Oregon is our biggest rival, those games are always heated and fun.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Pregame, I have to throw on some Lil Baby or Uzi. Any of their songs will set the mood.

What is your offseason training like?

Offseason training is always competitive and hard. Especially during the months off we had from Corona, we had to get creative since all the gyms were closed. So we were out pushing tires on grass as sleds and using any open fields we could find.

What parts of your game, do you hope to transition to the NFL?

My get off is a huge part of my game, I just love attacking so I hope to continue to implement that into my NFL game.

What advice would you have for a young basketball player, who has dreams of playing in the NFL?

I would tell them to continue to play both sports, believe in your self and learn to build confidence through verbal conversations with your self. Train hard, watch film, and study how other NFL guys made it to where they are.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would have to meet Lamar Jackson

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Watching Connor Mcgregor vs Floyd fight

What is your favorite memory of your college career?

Just being in the locker room making jokes, fighting and being around the boys

What will you miss most about Washington?

I will for sure miss my teammates the most, those guys are extended family and the relationships you grow are so solid.
