Marcel Reed is a 2023 recruit who plays Quarterback at Montgomery Bell Academy. Reed is ranked among one of the Top recruits in the class of 2023 and is ranked among one of the Top Quarterbacks in the class as well. Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Yes, growing up I was inspired by Michael Vick, I wasn’t always a QB but they way he played made the games so much more fun to watch and now I feel like my game is similar to his although I think I pass better.
What high school is your biggest rival?
Our biggest rival is Brentwood Academy. They’ve always been this biggest and it’s always fun to compete against them. Usually they have more talent but we have more fight and better coaching.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I don’t listen to much music like a lot of others. I have noise canceling head phones so sometimes I just have those on without any music playing. But I like Drake, Lil Baby, and YNW Melly if I do.
What is your offseason training like?
During the offseason i usually try and get time in with some of my receivers when they are available. Individually I work with Shannon Harris and in the mornings before school we do some QB drills with our head coach.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career, so far?
Christian Brothers. We were down in the second half and with a minute left we drove down the field in 7 plays and scored and then won off a 2 pt. Conversion.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
he best player I have played against is Noah Martin from Baylor in Chattanooga. He didn’t have much recognition from colleges but I played him my freshman year when he was a senior and he is the most down hill line back with speed and agility I have ever seen. And made all the plays on the defensive end as well as offense.
What is your favorite food?
Shrimp
When did you realize you were talented at football?
I’ve always been good at football. I felt like I was always bigger and better than everyone until I got into high school and when I played my first game and did well that’s when I realized how good I was.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would wanna meet Russell Wilson. Just the way he carries himself makes and impact on me and I try my best to be like him and lead like him and it would be amazing to meet him personally.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Auburn Kick six in the 2013 Iron Bowl. Greatest moment of my life.
