Who are some role models in your life?
My father and former University of Memphis kicker and punter Spencer Smith. Both have had such a tremendous impact on me, and I will forever be grateful for it.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Blue Oyster Cult and Dire Straits
What are the strengths of your game?
I train for accuracy. My statistics show that. This offseason I have put more of an emphasis on explosion training to get more hang time/distance. I never go down without a fight and have built up tremendous confidence in myself over the years. I have had many people doubt me, hence why it’s important to me that I be confident and not let anyone get into my head.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Getting to play in a state championship my freshman year
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I have played with and against many D1 athletes in my career. However, it has been most fun to play with Arkansas commit Dion Stutts and Brandon Nicholson.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Never stop grinding. If you commit to the process, you will be shocked with how far you can go. Recruitment is a slow and rather agonizing process, but at the end of the day, you will end up where you need to be.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Probably Italy, to visit where my grandmother was born.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I truly fell in love with the game of football at age 9 when Ole Miss kicker and punter Gary Wunderlich gave me a kicking lesson and introduced me to the kicking world.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Definitely seeing the Nashville Predators win in overtime.
