Ta’ulelei Mareko is a 2026 recruit who plays Linebacker at Lakes High School. Some role models in my life are my mom, dad, uncles, aunts, and grandparents.

I listen to Fiji, Tupac, and 90’s rap to get hyped before games.

What are the strengths of your game?

One of my biggest strengths is my drive to win. I will try as hard as I can in anything I do in life.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career was when I got my first pick 6, in 13U.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best players I’ve played with in my career are Leo Pulalasi, Aslan Fraser, Matai Sarte, and Kimari Washington.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Grind even when you don’t want to.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?.

If I could travel anywhere, I would go to Tokyo.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I think I was like 4 when I fell in love with football. I really just loved watching the game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet either Troy Polamalu, Micah Parsons, or Ray Lewis.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was when the Raiders beat the Chargers to get into the playoffs in 2022.
